As I stood there in the mirror.
Hours upon hours, flew right past.
Trying to decipher where my life went,
And the shadow that I cast.
The reflection wasnt empty.
But it definitely wasnt whole.
I turned away, disgusted,
From staring at the lonely soul.
Managing a silent murmur,
..A whisper of a plea.
Burdened down by hearts and sorrows,
I wish I could be free.
Birds arent free to roam the wind,
For they are chained to skies.
Never will I hide again,
No mask.. And no disguise.
Like pages torn from books..
No happy endings to be found here.
Burnt into ashes of a faltered lie,
But the fire wont singe the fear.
..As I stood there in the mirror,
In the minute that I stared.
The lonely soul that eyed me back,
Was the only one who cared.
